Women at high risk of breast cancer can often lower that risk by taking medication, including drugs like tamoxifen or the osteoporosis drug raloxifene. However, there are risks in taking these medicines and the doctors and the patients need to weigh the dangers of the side effect of the drugs'.
There are 200,000 new cases of breast cancer, but because people are not taking the drugs, even though half the amount of people are able to be saved, the drug is under used due to lack of education and information.
The hospital should educate people and advertise how it is better to take the medicine.
